Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, located on the route between Dwarka city and Bet Dwarka in Gujarat, is revered as the first Jyotirlinga mentioned in the Shiva Purana. The temple is famous for its massive and beautiful 82-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva in a sitting posture, visible from several kilometers away. It represents protection from all poisons and evils.

Historical & Mythological Significance

The Shiva Purana narrates that a devotee named Supriya was captured by a demon named Daruka in an underwater city. Supriya led the prisoners in chanting Shiva's name. The temple was renovated in the late 20th century under the patronage of late T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar.
